SIP Call Control in IMS Networks
The IMS-GWF can be regarded as a special kind of SIP application server whose role is to provide communication between the network and the Online Charging System (OCS) in StreamWIDE Charging. On receipt of the INVITE, the IMS-GWF reserves a calling credit by requesting a quota from the OCS, which allows the call to continue or not according to the balance status.
